Satyagrah by Prakash Jha is relevant and worth viewing. We should applaud any efforts made to sensitize the environment and the people amidst the turbulent times in our country. Never before did we need ourselves to be kept abreast with the fast changing scenario as we do now. Terms like Satyagrah, Swaraj, Freedom & Democracy, Honesty, Integrity etcetera hold prominence and each of one us needs to be aware of their true meaning. Compliments to the entire team of Satyagrah. It's a very well intentioned cinematic effort.

How often would it happen that a singer of Hariharan’s repute hears you singing a few lines and asks you to sing more? It sounds like a thing of a beautiful dream; however, that’s exactly what happened with Nandini Srikar at a gathering during Pune festival. And it was quite dramatic as well. It so happened that the power went off during the event and people being aware that Hariharan was around requested him to sing. He didn’t sing but Nandini started singing one of his compositions. When the lights came on, Hariharan made her sing a few more songs. He was so impressed that he advised her to take up a career in singing. He was also ready to help her taking the first step in this direction. Needless to say this particular incident turned out to be a life changing event for Nandini Srikar. I find this video worth sharing as many times I can. Some people believe that Arvind Kejriwal has turned into a crusader overnight. It is a must watch video for them for they would then realize that the movement they are now seeing has been evolving for many years. This video footage shows various stages of an awareness campaign done by his NGO ‘Parivartan’ in 2002 . This was about the taxpayer’s money being looted in the name of various urban developmental activities shown on paper with very little or nothing being done actually. You would see how they went on to organize a first Jan-Sunwaayi or public hearing of its kind wherein thousands of people including locals, journalists, MLA, Mayor and people from various social organizations gathered. The hearing was presided over by the ex supreme court judge Justice P B Sawant. Arvind Kejriwal has actually written about the concept of Gram Sabhas and Mohalla Sabhas in his book titled Swaraj . I heard through the media what Mr. Kamal Haasan had to say in the morning today. And I truly empathize with his emotional outburst about the possibility of leaving his homeland and even the country. He has undoubtedly been one of the great torch-bearers of the cinema in India. He is a great artist himself and he’s said to have invested 95 crore rupees for this movie. Just when the culmination of all hard work and investment was ready to be served, we started seeing this hullaballoo around his ambitious project Vishwaroopam’s release. So much so that the film has been banned in the state (Tamil Nadu) by a court order after the state government sought a stay referring to the requests from 23 opposing groups.   These groups feel that certain sections of the film hurt Islamic sentiments.   Now the big question here is that whether it is an isolated incident. It's a rather sad morning today because of the reports of the brave young girl passing away in Singapore hospital. Perhaps she didn't want to come back to this world. But she does leave us all with a choice. Are we going to be continually held hold hostage to the rampaging callousness of this world or we are taking a stand and uniting towards making it better and safer for life to prosper holistically?? While her leaving us is truly heart-breaking, we ought to make sure that it does not let the fire die out. The efforts to restore sanity has to gain even more momentum so that the insanity and its perpetrators are kept at bay. The country awaits justice. And are we ready to restore a new world order?? Do you remember the ad in which a very well dressed and hurried office executive doesn’t bother to stop the lift on an elderly couple’s far-cry and then doesn’t even de-board at destination because he sees a beautiful young lady entering? A nice Ghazal plays in the background (good one indeed as some people are desperately searching for a full version online) while the executive fellow admires her beauty and tries to strike a conversation before the lift goes back to where it began--elderly couple still waiting. The executive is apparently embarrassed. “Men will be men”, the ad sums up and ends after showing Seagram’s Imperial Blue Superhits Music CD logo with the announcement. I searched for the music CD online and found that there are two volumes of dance mixes collection compiled as “Seagram's Imperial Blue Superhits” that came out under record label of Sony Music.
